From roller coaster pillars to loop ride tracks the drawings in the Thrill Rides series conjure up energetic and playful shapes. In French, when we try to translate "thrill ride" word by word, it becomes a « locomotion of rapture » . I like to imagine that this could also refer to drawing, or be synonymous with it. I explore the sensation of taking off being similar to experiencing art. To draw a line on paper is taking the risk of trusting its path, its direction, and finding pleasure within this movement. My drawings move from one graphic language to another, from wall to paper, from surfaces to reliefs, and a change of position gives a glimpse of the world upside down. To me, looking at a work of art is to experience all of these sensations.
